Grammarly is seeking an Android Engineer to enhance the Grammarly Android experience. This role, based in Berlin, operates on a hybrid working model and involves collaborating with Product, Design, and Machine Learning teams to develop new features. The successful candidate will contribute to the architecture of Grammarly's mobile products, ensuring responsiveness and performance. They will also diagnose performance bottlenecks and drive improvements to deliver a delightful user experience.

Role Involves:

  • Collaborating with Product, Design, and Machine Learning teams
  • Contributing to the evolving architecture of our mobile products
  • Diagnosing performance bottlenecks and identifying bugs
  • Enhancing how people communicate on mobile devices

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining features for apps on the Google Play Store
  • Strong experience in Kotlin
  • Well-versed in modern Android development patterns (MVVM)
  • Solid experience with the Android SDK and Jetpack libraries
  • Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles and best practices
  • Skilled in multithreading and optimizing memory and performance
  • Experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow
  • Proficient in writing unit and instrumentation tests
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs
  • Experience with Mobile CI/CD systems
