Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Alloy team, focusing on Alloy and the OpenTelemetry Collector. The Observability department at Grafana is dedicated to providing tools for developers to understand application health and performance, utilizing Grafana Cloud. The role involves collaborating with the OpenTelemetry collector community, integrating Prometheus exporters, and supporting customers with observability pipelines.What will the role involve?
- Delivering new functionality within the Alloy team.
- Contributing to and reviewing design documents for upcoming features.
- Actively participating in the OpenTelemetry collector community.
- Ensuring Alloy integrates well with Prometheus components.
- Supporting customers with setting up observability pipelines.
- Collaborating with other teams within Grafana to ensure solution compatibility.
- Participating in on-call rotations for deployments.
- Passion for observability and knowledge sharing through documentation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Relevant open source experience, ideally in OpenTelemetry or Prometheus.
- Willingness to be an active member of the OpenTelemetry community.
- Good understanding of production environments.
- Experience operating production infrastructure and services.
