Backend Engineer Team Lead at Truecaller

Truecaller is seeking a Backend Team Lead to join its Cloud Telephony team. This role is based in Tel Aviv, Israel. The Backend Team Lead will spearhead the development of cutting-edge voice applications, leveraging modern technologies to design, develop, and maintain the telephony platform and its microservices. Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of scalable and reliable systems for global voice traffic.
• Oversee high-volume, low-latency application development.
• Guide backend feature development with a focus on ownership, testing, and metrics.
• Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the backend team.

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience in high-load voice services development and maintenance.
• 8+ years of backend development experience, with 5+ years in Node.js and voice applications.
• Strong knowledge of Node paradigms and voice application development best practices.
• Experience with Node.js frameworks and tools specific to voice technology.
• Experience with microservices architecture, DevOps, and continuous delivery pipelines.
• Solid understanding of deployment processes (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Strong team player with a positive attitude.
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Experience with AI technologies integration into voice applications.
