Security Operations Engineer II at Axon

Axon is seeking a Security Operations Engineer II to join their team in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The candidate will focus on the security of high-availability, scalable, cloud-based systems. They will respond to and investigate escalated security incidents and help create and implement sophisticated monitoring and detection techniques. This role requires a high-energy security professional to expand and mature Axon's security operations.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain tooling to improve security event detection and response.
• Automate and scale monitoring, detection, and response capabilities.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to investigate and remediate escalated security events.
• Evaluate and integrate new security tools and technologies into the SOC.
• Partner with teams to build secure solutions.
• Assess and integrate security tools, particularly open-source tools.
• Write run books and draft incident reports.
• Engineer solutions to address current security attack methods and detection techniques.
• Provide input to the Information Security Program.
• Stay current on security industry trends and technologies.

Requirements:

• Understanding of modern, distributed cloud-based applications.
• Experience in security best practices.
• Fluency in scripting languages like Python or Go, and shell scripting (bash/powershell).
• Experience interacting with cloud platforms like Azure and AWS via APIs.
• Competency with GitOps.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
