Axon is seeking a Staff/Principal Software Engineer to contribute to its mission of protecting life. The ideal candidate will collaborate with senior engineers to shape the technical direction for the organization and its products. They will use their system design skills to ensure products are robust and fault-tolerant, meeting demanding interactivity and responsiveness requirements.
The Software Engineer will work with product and design teams to deliver innovative solutions to customer problems. They will review designs, steer teams, and mentor engineering leaders, fostering a friendly, open culture.
Responsibilities:
- Set a high technical bar through insights and design reviews.
- Mentor senior engineers across teams.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering.
- Improve engineering processes.
- Build high-availability, secure services.
- Work with open source technologies.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- Experience building and scaling software products.
- Skill in driving technical solutions across teams.
- Backend cloud experience in managed languages.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience designing scalable cloud systems.
- Ability to write maintainable code for microservices.
- Track record of setting technical direction for growing teams.
