Experienced/Lateral - Linux Systems Administrator

Job Description

Five Rings, a proprietary trading firm, is seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to join their expanding team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing workstations and servers supporting the firm's trading operations.

This role involves frequent interaction with users across the organization and requires a strong aptitude for Linux administration.

Responsibilities include:

• Installing workstations on trading floors and in offices
• Installing servers and networking appliances in data centers, potentially requiring travel
• Hardware maintenance and large-scale build-outs, possibly involving domestic and international travel
• Installing office appliances such as printers, phones, and televisions

Requirements:

• Fluency in Linux administration (Debian/Ubuntu preferred)
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to complete tasks efficiently and manage context switches
• Experience with BIND, Ansible, Linux KVM, Zabbix, and Google Workplace tools
• Scripting experience in Bash and Python (SQL and Perl preferred)
• Knowledge of cybersecurity tools (2FA, iptable rulesets, Malwarebytes, fail2ban)
• Ability to lift and install equipment up to 50lbs
