Experienced/Lateral - Trading Operations Engineer

Job Description

Five Rings, a proprietary trading firm, is seeking a Trading Operations Engineer to provide technical operations support for US and UK based desks. The role is based in New York.

This individual will be part of the firm’s Technology division but sits on the trading desk and is embedded in the technical operations processes of the firm. The task set is roughly split evenly between desk facing activities and light coding tasks often in collaboration with full time development staff.

The main responsibilities for the Trading Operations Engineer role includes:

• First point of contact for traders utilizing the firm’s trading systems
• Install, configure and monitor critical trading applications
• Incident management via ticketing system and documentation
• Collaborate with developers for all operational processes supporting trading applications

Requirements for the role include:

• Strong problem solving and multitasking abilities
• Experience with Python, bash and MySQL on Linux is required
• Excellent communication skills

What the role offers:

• The total compensation packages are comprised of base salary and a discretionary bonus.
