Mr D, a division of the Takealot Group, is seeking a Senior E-Commerce Category Manager to join their team in Cape Town. This role is focused on driving growth and performance for a specific category within the Shops Vertical team.He/she will be entrusted with end-to-end management of the category, involving close collaboration with partners, merchandising, operations, and cross-functional teams to execute category strategies and maximise commercial results.Key responsibilities include:
- Category Ownership: Driving performance, executing growth plans, and ensuring category coverage.
- Partner Management: Managing relationships, ensuring listing accuracy, and collaborating on strategies.
- Partnership Development: Identifying, negotiating, and optimizing partnerships.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working with merchandising, marketing, tech, and operations teams.
- Performance Management: Analyse category performance across key metrics.
- Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen.
- Experience working with merchandising teams and external partners.
- Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with data manipulation in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- 3-4 years in category management, buying, or merchandising roles.
