Takealot.com is seeking a Category Marketing Manager for Beauty to develop and implement marketing strategies for the Beauty category. The role involves driving customer engagement, brand awareness, GMV, and market share growth. This role involves market research, collaboration with cross-functional teams, budget management, and campaign execution across multiple channels.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing effective marketing strategies for the Beauty category.
  • Conducting market research and analysis to identify customer needs and trends.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align marketing strategies with business objectives.
  • Creating and managing marketing budgets for the category.
  • Planning and executing integrated marketing campaigns across various channels.
  • Monitoring and analyzing marketing campaign performance.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Building relationships with suppliers and partners to identify co-branding opportunities.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Collaborating with the marketing team to foster a high-performing work environment.
  • Collaborating with the Advertising team to develop effective campaigns and promotions.
  • Operational and Management reporting weekly and monthly

Requirements include:

  • Beauty category knowledge essential
  • Demonstrable negotiation skills
  • Strong knowledge of marketing principles and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in marketing software and tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in managing a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or communication.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years marketing & retail experience
  • Experience working across marketing channels – Digital, ATL, Partnerships, Commercial – with demonstrable results
  • Retail or e-commerce marketing experience beneficial
  • Experience in developing and managing annual marketing budgets
  • An understanding of e-commerce and the key levers that drive sales in an e-commerce environment
  • A strong working knowledge of Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel is required
  • Tech Savvy - have a passion for technology and how to use technological solutions to improve performance
