Takealot.com, South Africa’s leading online retailer, is seeking a Product Manager to join its Payments team. The role involves shaping the payment strategy for over 4 million South African shoppers.
Responsibilities:
- Building the vision and roadmap of the Payments portfolio on shopping platforms.
- Participating in shaping payment strategy.
- Working cross-functionally with engineering, design, operations, and executive teams.
- Negotiating with partners dealing with payment services.
- Researching payment solutions and keeping up with the latest trends.
- Driving conversion rate optimisation as it relates to online payments.
- Working with business owners to translate their needs into projects for payments.
- Defining/tracking the metrics and data.
- Analysing and understanding the project scope and core objectives.
- Eliciting low-level functional requirements and documenting these requirements.
- Collaborating with technical lead and subject matter experts.
- Evolving appropriate Product Management practices.
- Ensuring that the development and QA teams understand the requirements.
- Setting timelines, driving project schedules, and leading cross-functional development teams.
- Reviewing the test plan and test scripts.
- Performing user acceptance testing.
Requirements:
- Proven track record of execution.
- Ability to formulate a detailed product roadmap.
- Ability to wear multiple hats.
- Solution-oriented, accountable, highly motivated and have a robust personality.
- The ability to take initiative in ambiguous situations.
- Data-driven decision-making with good story telling skills.
- Outstanding organisational and communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- An avid customer advocate.
- Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma in a related field and a minimum of 5 years Product Management experience, of which a minimum of 2 years experience in a Product Development environment is required.
