Job Description

Takealot.com is seeking an Account Manager to join its Advertising team in Cape Town. The role focuses on driving the adoption and usage of Takealot’s self-service advertising platform for Sponsored Advertising by Marketplace sellers. This position reports to the Lead Sales Specialist

Responsibilities include:

  • Driving the adoption and usage of Takealot’s self-service advertising platform for Sponsored Advertising by Marketplace sellers.
  • Analyzing sales metrics and advertising data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Providing sellers with clear, data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Building media plans for top-tier spending sellers and identifying opportunities for upselling.
  • Coordinating asset collection for designers to create and execute campaigns.
  • Managing the integration of campaigns into the marketing calendar.
  • Supervising billing and payment processes.
  • Monitoring campaign performance and sharing results with clients.
  • Meeting advertising sales targets.
  • Assisting in the development of promotional material.
  • Providing support to Marketplace Account Managers.
  • Implementing new seller acquisition strategies.
  • Collecting feedback from sellers to enhance the platform.
  • Collaborating with the CRM team to build case studies.
  • Contributing to the development of educational webinars.
  • Escalating platform issues to technical teams.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma or 5 years account management experience.
  • 3 years' experience in B2B software or advertising sales.
  • Digital Marketing, Advertising and Sales experience.
  • E-Commerce experience is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve sales targets.
  • Strong track record of internal and external relationship management
  • Passion for online, digital marketing and advertising
