Job Description

Astera Labs is seeking a Principal Optical Module Validation Engineer to validate optical systems incorporating their connectivity and memory products. The engineer will collaborate with various teams, including Marketing, Engineering, Validation, and Applications. The role involves every stage of design, from concept to mass production, with opportunities to drive innovation by providing feedback to internal teams. The candidate should bring industry experience, innovative thinking, and expertise in their field with a proactive attitude.

Responsibilities include:

• Validating optical systems.
• Collaborating with various teams.
• Providing feedback to internal teams.
• Participating in manufacturing, customer engagement, and post-production support.

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

• Strong academic and technical background in direct detect optical systems.
• Bachelor’s in EE (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in optical link analysis and module design.
• Understanding of high speed (>32Gbps) signal and power integrity challenges.
• Technical knowledge of single mode and/or multimode optical systems.
• Optical simulation flow experience for link analysis.
• Hands-on optical equipment measurements experience.
• Understanding of FW closed-loop systems.
• Track record of taking products from concept to mass production.
