Job Description
Astera Labs is seeking a Senior Hardware Electrical Engineer to join their Hardware Engineering team. The engineer will design boards incorporating Astera Labs’ connectivity and memory products, used by cloud service providers, server manufacturers, and network OEMs. The role involves all design stages, from concept to mass production, and offers opportunities to drive innovation, collaborate on related activities, and directly interact with key customers.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing boards for connectivity and memory products.
- Participating in all design stages, from concept to mass production.
- Providing feedback to improve products and processes.
- Collaborating on manufacturing, customer engagement, and post-production support.
- Soliciting customer input on form factors and proposing solutions.
Requirements:
- Strong academic and technical background in electrical engineering (Bachelor’s in EE required, Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in system-level board design.
- Strong background in high-speed board design techniques for enterprise and data center systems.
- Knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Cadence, Altium).
- Working knowledge of Allegro layout tool.
- Understanding of signal integrity and power integrity.
- Experience with high-speed NRZ/PAM4 SerDes-based protocols and memory interfaces.
- Experience in board bring-up and validation, and silicon/PCB debug.
- Track record of taking products from concept to mass production.
- Experience working with contract manufacturers and PCB vendors.
