Motive is seeking an Automotive Service Technician to join their Connected Devices/Hardware team. The candidate will be a technologist and problem solver with a deep understanding of Motive Hardware, industry best practices, and automotive networking technologies. They will serve as a role model for Motive Hardware knowledge and quality standards. The technician will be responsible for installation, connectivity, and feature quality of telematics devices within customer vehicles, ensuring high-quality data availability and reliability. Involves 50% travel to Mexico.

Responsibilities include:

  • Becoming a Subject Matter Expert on Motive Hardware and Software.
  • Providing strategic onsite support for Motive Implementations.
  • Building and delivering installation partner training content.
  • Collaborating with Motive Field Engineering and Telematics teams.
  • Managing the resolution of escalated technical issues.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's Degree with 2+ Years Relevant Experience
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Ability to travel 40% in Mexico
  • Expertise in vehicle architecture and CAN bus communication protocols.
  • Proficiency in vehicle diagnostics via OBD-II (J1979) and J1939.
