Flo, a leading health app for women, is seeking a Senior/Lead Backend Engineer to join their team. The company has over 400M+ downloads and 75M+ monthly users. This role involves building and shaping complex, distributed, and secure systems that power the app.
The Senior/Lead Backend Engineer will be responsible for building data-driven health insights, distributed systems, privacy-first features, and tooling and platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Building data-driven health insights
- Developing distributed systems
- Creating privacy-first features
- Building tooling and platforms
Requirements:
- 7+ years’ experience building distributed backend systems
- Knowledge of making systems fast, reliable, and secure
- Fluency in Java, Scala, Python, or similar
- Understanding of DevOps, databases (SQL and NoSQL), and API design
- Strong handle on writing clean, documented, version-controlled code
- Product-minded and thinking about the end-user impact
