Data Engineer

Job Description

Ozow is seeking a Data Engineer to expand and optimize its data and data pipeline architecture. The ideal candidate will be experienced in building data pipelines and enjoy optimizing data systems. They will be responsible for optimizing data flow and collection for cross-functional teams.Role involves:

• Expanding and optimising data and data pipeline architecture
• Optimizing data flow and collection for cross-functional teams
• Building and optimising ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures, and data sets
• Performing root cause analysis on internal and external data
• Building processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in developing data solutions
• A degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field
• Proficiency in data application/software architecture
• Experience working with SQL & Python
• Experience with relational databases
• Experience in operations of a big data ecosystem
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams and mentoring/leading teams
• Experience working with Fintech data (advantageous)
