Similarweb is seeking a Principal Data/Server Engineer to lead the architecture and development of its core data offerings. This role is crucial for maintaining the engineering excellence of the data/server engineers and ensuring the quality and stability of the platform, which serves over 100,000 monthly users with extensive digital analytics.
The Role Involves:
- Nurturing a production-first mindset across the organization.
- Planning a technical roadmap for the entire team.
- Managing the budget for cloud-based infrastructure.
- Overseeing backend and data-pipelines coding standards.
- Participating in technical designs and code reviews.
- Leading and escorting projects to successful completion.
- Developing new data infrastructures and internal services.
- Leading knowledge sharing and partnering with product management.
- Staying on top of cutting-edge innovations and managing POCs.
Requirements:
- BSC or higher degree in computer science, mathematics, or related field.
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience with programming languages (Python, JavaScript/Node.js, Java, or Scala).
- At least 3 years of experience as an engineering manager.
- Experience with large-scale SaaS platforms and complex web systems.
- Experience with data analytics platforms implementation.
- Extensive knowledge of Node.js and Nest.js is a significant advantage.
- Knowledge of database solutions for big data and data engineering pipelines is an advantage.
