Accounting Manager

Job Description

Alo is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee accounting activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP, corporate policies, and external audits. The Accounting Manager will assist in managing the monthly closing of accounts and preparation of reports in support of the financial statements.

The ideal candidate possesses leadership capabilities, a solid operational and technical accounting background and works proactively to drive results. This person is a self-starter, flexible, has a high level of integrity and is action and goal-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the monthly financial close process.
• Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures.
• Focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices.
• Participate in strategic financial projects including upgrades/phase-two implementation of ERP software.
• Ensure compliance with internal control policies.
• Collaborate with external auditors.
• Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed.
• Support month-end and year-end close process.
• Review general ledger reconciliations for several key areas.
• Oversee a team of 2-5 accountants.

Requirements:

• 6+ years’ experience working in the apparel, ecommerce, or related industry (public/private).
• 3+ years’ experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
• BS degree in Accounting or related business field.
• CPA desired.
• In-depth understanding of US GAAP.
• Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm preferred.
• Experience in the retail/ consumer products industry preferred.
• Experience working in a multi-national corporation.
• Ability to execute deadline driven processes in a dynamic environment.
