Inventory Accounting Manager

Job Description

Alo is seeking an Inventory Accounting Manager to manage all aspects of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and inventory valuation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monthly closing activity and margin analysis, while also working with the Business Technology Solutions group on process/reporting improvements.

• Accounting, reporting, and analysis related to inventories, gross margins, and standard costs
• Working with Product, Sourcing and Logistics departments to establish accurate standard costs
• Providing costing information to Sales leadership and Category Managers
• Monitoring inventory balances and reporting on inventory adjustments
• Preparing and reviewing monthly journal entries related to inventory and COGS
• Ensuring proper valuation and reserves for inventories under US GAAP
• Preparing and reviewing monthly reconciliations for inventory related accounts
• Documenting end-to-end inventory processes
• Acting as finance liaison in physical inventory counts and cycle count reviews
• Establishing and maintaining inventory and COGS related internal controls
• Preparing inventory and COGS related information for auditors
• Monitoring low margin, slow moving inventory and providing financial reporting

• Minimum of 5 years of cost analysis experience in a complex manufacturing environment, preferably in the apparel industry
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
• Strong cost systems background
• Excellent analytical skills
• Sound understanding of accounting principals, including expertise in standard costing
• Exceptional project management skills and presentation skills
• Experience with implementing ERP systems that support manufacturing
• CPA qualification preferred
• Effective and professional communication skills

• Base salary range of $140,000-$160,000 per year
