Alarm.com is seeking a Senior Production Engineer. This role involves designing, building, testing, and validating product assembly and system testing, from stand-alone test stations to multi-station production lines. The Senior Production Engineer will act as a technical interface between the product development engineering teams and Alarm.com's manufacturing value-added partners. The candidate will be working with various cross-functional teams jointly responsible for manufacturing, test, and analysis to troubleshoot design/build problems throughout the product lifecycle.

Role Involves:

  • Consulting with Program Managers to gather assembly and testing requirements.
  • Supporting Product Managers and Product Development Engineering Teams in designing assembly jigs, testing fixtures, and production setups.
  • Studying and proposing improvements for DFM, DFC, DFT, and DFA.
  • Leading the setup of product assembly/testing environments and SOPs.
  • Coordinating with Test Engineers and Quality Engineers to validate manufacturing environments and production setups.
  • Teaming up with Quality Engineers and manufacturing partners to analyze design/production failures.
  • Performing manufacturing process simplification, optimization, and standardization.

Requirements:

  • BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electronic Engineering.
  • 10+ years of hands-on production engineering experience in laying out and setting up production lines.
  • Proficient in designing test jigs and test fixtures for consumer and commercial electronic devices.
  • Professional language proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese.
  • Ability for as needed pan-Asian and US travel.
  • Proven records of understanding the assembly and testing of consumer and commercial electronic products.
  • Demonstrated understanding of all aspects of assembly and testing requirements for various electronic products.
  • Experienced in constructing professional quality assembly SOP and system test SOP.
  • Expertise in designing assembly jigs and testing fixtures for various consumer and commercial products.
  • Proficiency in various application software such as Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Established engineering capabilities in debugging production and product failures.
  • Good understanding of quality, reliability, and compliance requirements.
  • Professional written, verbal, and presentation skills in English and in Chinese.
