Senior Underwriter (Bridging Loans) at Tandem Bank

Tandem is seeking a Senior Underwriter (Bridging Loans) to manage unregulated Bridging/Buy-To-Let applications from underwriting to drawdown. The Senior Underwriter will work within a team to achieve key performance objectives and maintain relationships with stakeholders.

The role involves:

• Achieving individual performance targets and contributing to business KPIs.
• Making lending decisions within lending policies and individual mandates.
• Managing broker expectations and prioritizing tasks.
• Responding to underwriting queries and approving applications for fund drawdown.
• Adhering to internal underwriting policy and regulatory requirements.
• Communicating with the introducer network and resolving queries.
• Contributing to future product development, including BTL mortgages.
• Mentoring team members for underwriting bridging/Buy-to-Let applications.
• Maintaining a good level of knowledge of the relevant industry sector.

Requirements include:

• At least 3 years’ experience in a senior position, underwriting Non-regulated Bridging and Buy-to-Let applications
• Experience in bridging refurbishment and development finance
• Detailed understanding of the mortgage industry, regulation, and legal requirements.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and customer service skills.
• Ability to contribute to a team and self-motivate.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
