Affirm is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join its Architecture Group. This role involves owning the architecture and technical roadmap for innovative products within the Servicing domain, as well as contributing to Affirm’s overall technology architecture. The Principal Software Engineer will be the accountable technical leader for Affirm’s Servicing domain, which encompasses the customer service agent experience and self-service consumer journeys.Responsibilities include:
- Driving the long-term vision and architecture of Affirm’s post-purchase user experience.
- Championing innovative, scalable solutions.
- Promoting a strong culture of innovation and evaluating new technologies.
- Establishing architecture, technical design, and code review standards.
- Providing technical guidance and influence in other areas of Engineering.
- Leading technical teams to develop end-to-end solutions for complex problems.
- Partnering with Product Management to shape product direction and roadmap.
- Leading the organization by hiring, coaching, managing, and supporting senior engineering leaders.
- Fostering a culture of technical excellence and constant improvement.
Requirements include:
- Strong experience leading engineering organizations to deliver high-quality software.
- Track record of successfully leading engineering teams at rapidly scaling startups and larger technology companies.
- Expertise in synthesizing complex technical requirements and influencing product direction.
- Ability to effectively communicate decisions and practices to the engineering organization.
- Extensive experience building and owning large-scale, highly available consumer products.
- Track record of successfully mentoring and developing technical leaders.
- 15+ years of software engineering experience.
