Affirm is seeking a Software Engineer II to join its Repayment UX Engineering team. This is a fully remote role with team members in Poland and Spain. The team focuses on building and owning user flows that enable consumers to repay loans, innovating to improve user experience and effectiveness. The role offers a high degree of ownership, allowing the engineer to define their path to achieve objectives and share knowledge with experienced teammates.
What this role involves:
- Breaking down projects into individual tasks and delivering them in phases.
- Collaborating with product management, design, and analytics to provide technical insights.
- Monitoring metrics and supporting operations and availability.
- Contributing to team community through growth and development activities.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- Experience designing, developing, and launching APIs at scale using Python or Kotlin.
- Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue (optional).
- Humility and self-awareness to navigate ambiguous problems and unfamiliar technologies.
- Ability to translate problems into solutions that interact with multiple software components.
- Comfort navigating large code bases and providing code review feedback.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
