Senior Manager, Software Engineering (Data & Storage Services) at Affirm

Affirm is seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead the Data and Storage Services organization, specifically the Orchestration Services team. The Data and Storage Services team handles all of Affirm’s Data requirements, from critical online checkout databases to BI and analytics tools. The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of experience in managing teams and delivering technical roadmaps.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of engineers and managers.
• Oversee teams managing storage services.
• Drive business and engineering metrics.
• Collaborate with tech leads, program managers, and product managers.
• Provide leadership and growth opportunities to team members.
• Lead technical decisions, projects, and roadmaps.
• Collaborate with peers, leadership, and stakeholders.
• Develop a multi-year roadmap.
• Guide and aid in the professional growth of engineers.

Requirements:

• Solid leadership and interpersonal skills.
• 10+ years of experience in managing teams and delivering technical programs.
• Proven track record in stakeholder management and delivery.
• Expertise in managing large-scale compute and data processing systems.
• Expertise in scaling frameworks like Spark, Flink, and Kafka.
• Capable of mentorship and cross-functional project execution.
• Strong communication skills and a growth mindset.
• Experience in the data infrastructure domain.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
