Affirm is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their Capacity Engineering team. This is a remote position based in Canada. The Software Engineer will be responsible for optimizing cloud infrastructure and distributed systems at scale.
Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.
Responsibilities:
- Breaking down larger projects into individual tasks and delivering them in phases.
- Collaborating with product management, design, and analytics teams.
- Creating and monitoring metrics, and supporting on-call efforts.
- Assisting with right-sizing compute and data workloads.
- Collaborating with other infrastructure and product teams.
Requirements:
- 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems.
- Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
- Familiarity with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
