Job Description
Tide is seeking a Lead Counsel - Product to support its German operations. This role will be pivotal in Tide's expansion, offering financial tools to German entrepreneurs. The Lead Counsel will serve as a subject matter expert on German and EU legal and regulatory issues, advising product teams and management.Responsibilities include:
  • Advising product teams on German and EU regulations.
  • Guiding business teams in designing and launching products.
  • Drafting and reviewing product-related terms and policies.
  • Anticipating legal challenges and providing creative solutions.
  • Supporting EU market expansion through legal surveys.
  • Managing complex contracts and legal projects.
  • Providing agile advice on corporate, commercial, and operational matters.
  • Assisting with regulatory changes, investigations, and audits.
  • Training teams on regulatory developments.
  • Mentoring junior lawyers.
The ideal candidate should have:
  • German qualified lawyer with 5+ years PQE.
  • Expertise in German and EU laws within payments, fintech, or top-tier law firms.
  • Experience drafting product terms and conditions.
  • Ability to navigate complex legal challenges.
  • Comfort in fast-paced, growth-oriented settings.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Fluency in German & English.
