Tide, a business management platform for small businesses, is seeking an Engineering Manager (Tech Lead) to join its team in Lithuania. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for designing, creating, and running the product catalog.

The Engineering Manager will work with the product team to select technology partners and lead engineers by dividing time between design, coding, and coaching. This individual will also be responsible for aligning the vision and roadmap of their part of the target architecture with other Staff Engineers. Will work closely with product owners, mobile & web engineers, data scientists and other business members to translate requirements into well-engineered solutions

Responsibilities:

  • Defining and owning part of the target architecture for a domain
  • Working on early engineering phases for team groundwork
  • Selecting technology partners with product teams
  • Leading engineers through design, coding, and coaching
  • Aligning architectural vision with other Staff Engineers
  • Collaborating with product owners and other team members to translate requirements
  • Making contributions to the Community of Practice and setting best practices

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience building server-side applications
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Java 8 or newer)
  • Knowledge of a backend framework (e.g., Spring/Spring Boot)
  • Experience with microservices and RESTful APIs
  • Experience with scalable and reliable solutions in a cloud-native environment
  • Mindset of delivering secure, well-tested, and well-documented software
  • Experience in financial/payment services
  • Experience integrating with third-party providers and partners
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Comfort working in an agile environment
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Exposure to continuous integration, delivery, and deployment
