Job Description

Tide is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their team in Hyderabad. This role involves designing, creating, and running the product catalog. The Engineering Manager will take ownership of engineering practices and contribute to architectural decisions, working in full-stack teams and self-organizing to address technical challenges.

The Engineering Manager will work closely with product owners, mobile & web engineers, data scientists, and other business members to translate requirements into well-engineered solutions. They will be involved in early engineering phases, working with the product team to select technology partners, and providing coaching to other team members.

Responsibilities include:

  • Defining and owning part of the target architecture for the domain
  • Working on early engineering phases for the team(s)
  • Working with the product team to select technology partners
  • Leading engineers, balancing design, coding, and coaching
  • Aligning vision and roadmap with other Staff Engineers for complex initiatives
  • Translating requirements into well-engineered solutions with product owners and engineers
  • Making key contributions to the Community of Practice

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience building server-side applications
  • Knowledge of relevant programming languages (e.g., Java 8 or newer)
  • Knowledge of a backend framework (e.g., Spring/Spring Boot)
  • Experience with microservices and RESTful APIs
  • Experience engineering scalable solutions in a cloud-native environment
  • Mindset of delivering secure, well-tested software
  • Experience with financial/payment services and third-party integrations
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Comfort working in an agile environment
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Exposure to continuous integration, delivery, and deployment
