Job Description

Tide is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to enhance fraud detection and financial crime prevention. The role involves building and integrating intelligence into Tide's products to significantly reduce fraud. The Lead Data Scientist will collaborate with the FinCrime team, translate business needs, build and optimize machine learning models, and deploy models to production.

The Lead Data Scientist will work with machine learning engineers and data engineers to deploy models into production, ensuring they are scalable and optimized for real-time fraud detection.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the FinCrime team to identify and solve fraud detection problems.
  • Translate business requirements into data products and machine learning models.
  • Build, optimize, and deploy machine learning models for fraud detection.
  • Adopt new methodologies and technologies to enhance fraud detection practices.
  • Coach junior data scientists on model development, optimization, and deployment.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert on fraud detection and machine learning.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, with a focus on fraud detection or financial crime.
  • Extensive experience in designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models for fraud detection.
  • Proficiency in handling large, tabular datasets.
  • Experience with tools such as PySpark, Databricks, AWS, or GCP.
  • Proven ability to deploy models into production environments.
  • Expertise in monitoring model performance to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Background in the Fintech industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
