Job Description

Tide is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to enhance its FinCrime efforts by building and embedding intelligence into its products. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the FinCrime team to identify and solve fraud detection problems, translate business requirements into data products, and leverage machine learning to detect and mitigate fraud.

This role involves training and optimizing machine learning models, designing KPIs, and implementing experiments to improve fraud detection accuracy. The Lead Data Scientist will also work with machine learning engineers and data engineers to deploy models into production, ensuring they are scalable and optimized for real-time fraud detection. Additionally, the role includes adopting new methodologies, coaching junior data scientists, and serving as a subject matter expert in fraud detection and machine learning.

Tide offers flexible working arrangements, including remote work options within the assigned Indian state and the possibility to work from a different country or Indian state for 90 days per year. Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience as a Data Scientist
  • Extensive experience in designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models
  • Proficiency in handling large, tabular datasets
  • Experience with tools such as PySpark, Databricks, AWS, or GCP
  • Proven ability to deploy models into production environments
  • Expertise in monitoring and maintaining the health and performance of models
  • Background in the Fintech industry
  • Strong interpersonal skills
