Job Description

Tide is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to enhance fraud detection and FinCrime efforts. The successful candidate will collaborate with the FinCrime team to tackle business challenges, create data products, and employ machine learning to detect and mitigate fraud. This role is pivotal in driving impactful business outcomes for Tide.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the FinCrime team to solve business challenges
  • Translating business requirements into data products and models
  • Building and optimizing machine learning models
  • Productionizing models, ensuring scalability and real-time performance
  • Adopting new methodologies to improve fraud detection
  • Coaching junior data scientists
  • Serving as a technical subject matter expert

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of data science experience, with a focus on fraud detection or financial crime
  • Extensive expertise in designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models
  • Proficiency in handling large, tabular datasets
  • Experience with tools like PySpark, Databricks, AWS, or GCP
  • Proven ability to deploy and optimize models in production environments
  • Expertise in data and model observability
  • Background in the Fintech industry
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
