Job Description

Tide is seeking an Offensive Security Engineer to join their Threat Detection and Response team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in securing Tide, its employees, and its members by identifying vulnerabilities and strengthening security measures. This role is with Tide, a business management platform designed for small businesses, with over 1 million users globally.

The role involves:

  • Reviewing web/mobile applications, source code, and network security architectures.
  • Identifying vulnerabilities and strategizing effective remediation.
  • Identifying control gaps and vulnerabilities in cloud infrastructure.
  • Developing security tools and techniques specific to Tide.
  • Triaging and validating external security submissions.
  • Communicating findings and remediation actions to technical and non-technical teams.
  • Coaching engineers on offensive security principles.
  • Partnering with internal teams to uncover vulnerabilities.
  • Supporting Incident Response with a red team approach.

Requirements:

  • Passion for security and secure application design.
  • Experience in the Fintech or tech sector.
  • Experience in a fast-scaling business.
  • Attack simulation and vulnerability research experience.
  • Comfortable with writing tooling in Python, Java, Go, etc.
  • Experience in security assessments of cloud technologies, mobile/web applications and APIs, and Mac/Windows.
  • Exposure to LLM testing.
