Tide is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join its Developer Productivity (DevProd) team. This team focuses on empowering Tide's developers by streamlining workflows, maintaining internal tools, upgrading dependencies, enhancing CI/CD pipelines, and implementing coding standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong programming skills, experience with CI/CD pipelines, and familiarity with frameworks like Spring Boot and DevOps practices.

The Senior Backend Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify pain points and deliver innovative solutions. They will advocate for best practices in coding, testing, and deployment to enhance developer velocity and satisfaction.

Responsibilities include:

  • Driving the migration of dependencies and frameworks, ensuring compatibility and performance.
  • Managing and improving internal libraries.
  • Implementing and maintaining tools for code quality, including linters and static analysis.
  • Collaborating with teams to streamline developer workflows.
  • Advocating for best practices to enhance developer velocity.
  • Providing guidance and documentation for new tools and processes.
  • Analyzing inefficiencies in development pipelines and proposing improvements.

Requirements:

  • Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript, with experience in modern frameworks such as Spring Boot.
  • Expertise in designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of code quality tools (linters, static analysis) and automated testing frameworks.
  • Proven ability to identify inefficiencies and optimize developer workflows.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Passion for improving developer productivity.
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities and a commitment to delivering scalable solutions.
  • A track record of continuous learning.
