Tide is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their team in Lithuania. Tide is a business management platform focused on saving small businesses time and money. The engineer will contribute to the event-driven Microservice Architecture, defining and maintaining services owned by their team. They will use Java 17, Spring Boot, and JOOQ to build services, expose and consume RESTful APIs, and utilize SNS+SQS and Kafka for event sending. The role also involves using PostgreSQL via Aurora and deploying services to production.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the event-driven Microservice Architecture
  • Defining and maintaining services
  • Using Java 17, Spring Boot, and JOOQ for service development
  • Exposing and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Utilizing SNS+SQS and Kafka for event sending
  • Using PostgreSQL via Aurora as the primary datastore
  • Deploying services to production
  • Collaborating with Product Owners to translate user needs into solutions

Requirements include:

  • Experience building server-side applications
  • Knowledge of relevant programming languages
  • Knowledge of a backend framework (e.g., Spring/Spring Boot)
  • Experience engineering scalable and reliable solutions in a cloud-native environment
  • Mindset of delivering secure, well-tested, and well-documented software
