Job Description

Tide is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to join its Developer Productivity team. This role focuses on empowering developers by streamlining workflows, maintaining internal tools, upgrading dependencies, enhancing CI/CD pipelines, and implementing coding standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software engineering, CI/CD pipeline optimization, and DevOps practices.

The Staff Backend Engineer will be based in Serbia and will work within the Developer Productivity team.

Role Involves:

  • Leading optimization of CI/CD pipelines and dependency upgrades.
  • Managing and improving internal libraries and contribution workflows.
  • Developing tools and automation for code quality.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve productivity bottlenecks.
  • Establishing best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and fostering continuous improvement.
  • Analyzing and optimizing engineering workflows.
  • Staying current with emerging technologies.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years in software engineering with a focus on developer productivity, CI/CD, tooling, or infrastructure.
  • Expertise in designing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (Java, Python, JavaScript) and frameworks like Spring Boot.
  • Understanding of code quality tools and their integration into workflows.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Independent problem-solving skills and the ability to drive initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills to mentor junior engineers.
  • Experience with internal libraries, versioning, and dependency management.
  • Passion for continuous learning and adopting new technologies.
