Job Description
Tide is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to join their team in India, Delhi NCR. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and running the data pipelines and services necessary to support business functions, reports, and dashboards. Tide relies heavily on BigQuery/Snowflake, Airflow, Stitch/Fivetran, dbt, and Tableau/Looker for business intelligence and uses AWS with some GCP.
The Staff Data Engineer will be involved in many activities:
- Developing end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines in collaboration with Data Analysts.
- Designing, developing, and implementing scalable, automated processes for data extraction, processing, and analysis in a Data Mesh architecture.
- Mentoring junior engineers.
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Improving data pipeline delivery.
- Translating business requirements into technical specifications.
- Owning the delivery of data models and reports end-to-end.
- Performing exploratory data analysis to identify and prevent data quality issues.
- Optimizing data feeds and ensuring availability.
- Applying and championing data warehouse governance principles.
- Building Looker dashboards as required.
Tide requires following from candidates:
- 9+ years of development experience using Snowflake or similar data warehouse technology.
- Experience with dbt and other modern data stack technologies.
- Familiarity with agile processes like SCRUM.
- Extensive experience in writing advanced SQL statements and performance tuning.
- Experience in data ingestion techniques.
- Experience in data modelling.
- Experience in data mining, data warehouse solutions, and ETL.
- Experience architecting analytical databases (Data Mesh architecture is an added advantage).
- Experience working in agile cross-functional delivery teams.
- High development standards, especially for code quality.
- Strong technical documentation skills.
- Business-level English and good communication skills.
- Basic understanding of AWS platform systems.
