Job Description

Tide is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to join its growing team in Hyderabad, India. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and running data pipelines and services to support business functions, reports, and dashboards. The role involves working with technologies such as BigQuery/Snowflake, Airflow, Stitch/Fivetran, dbt, and Tableau/Looker, primarily on AWS with some GCP.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Designing and implementing scalable data extraction and processing solutions.
  • Mentoring junior engineers.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Translating business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Ensuring data quality and implementing tests.
  • Optimizing data feeds and building Looker dashboards.

Requirements:

  • 9+ years of extensive development experience with Snowflake or similar data warehouse technology.
  • Experience with dbt and other modern data stack technologies (e.g., Apache Airflow, Fivetran, AWS, git, Looker).
  • Experience with agile processes (SCRUM).
  • Advanced SQL skills and performance tuning.
  • Experience in data ingestion techniques.
  • Data modeling experience.
  • Experience in data mining, data warehouse solutions, and ETL.
  • Experience architecting analytical databases (Data Mesh architecture advantageous).
  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
  • Business-level English proficiency.
