Corporate Development Analyst

Job Description

GitLab, an open core software company, is seeking a Corporate Development Analyst to join their team. This remote role, based in EMEA, will focus on identifying, sourcing, and managing the acquisition opportunity pipeline, as well as assisting with deal flow.

The Corporate Development Analyst will play a crucial role in GitLab's growth strategy by identifying potential acquisition targets and supporting the execution of deals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the technology industry.

Responsibilities:

• Research and analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies.
• Build and maintain comprehensive target lists across strategic focus areas.
• Manage and optimize deal flow tracking system.
• Conduct initial screening of potential targets.
• Assist in building detailed financial models and valuation analyses.
• Support due diligence process by coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Assist drafting key business documents for active acquisition engagements.
• Support post-merger integration planning and technical delivery.
• Create and maintain process documentation.
• Perform market research and competitive analysis.
• Create periodic reports on pipeline activity, deal progress, and integration status.
• Analyze historical deal performance and capture lessons learned.
• Monitor industry trends and provide regular updates to the team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate development, venture capital, private equity, or competitive analysis.
• Adept with technology, analytical and detail-oriented critical thinker
• Excellent judgment, mature personality; a sophisticated, worldly businessperson
• Strong sense of ownership and ability to drive multiple simultaneous projects independently
• Proactive and action-oriented, anticipates needs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Comfortable with working asynchronously across multiple time zones
