Job Description
Affirm is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to focus on developing traffic management capabilities. They will set the technical vision and strategy for traffic management, capacity planning, and load testing. The role involves collaborating with the engineering organization to understand service load and develop capacity models and load testing frameworks. They will champion innovative solutions and promote a culture of innovation.
Responsibilities include:
- Setting the technical vision for traffic management capabilities.
- Building and expanding traffic management capabilities.
- Collaborating with the engineering organization to understand service load.

- Championing innovative solutions.
Requirements include:
- Experience in traffic management, load testing, or capacity planning at scale.
- Experience in designing and implementing traffic shaping, cluster management, and load shedding systems.
- Track record of delivering complex engineering infrastructure projects.
- Ability to develop and partner with software engineers.
- Strong communication skills.
- 15+ years software engineering experience.
