Job Description

Helmes Latvia is seeking a DevOps Engineer to contribute to their dynamic IT environment. This role involves the independent construction and maintenance of the Kubernetes containerization platform across various projects, utilizing both internal data center resources (bare metal solution) and cloud platforms. The candidate will automate software building, delivery, and test scenario execution, leveraging automation tools and platforms like GitLab and Jenkins.

He/she will advise and assist team developers in encapsulating developed software into Docker containers and integrate software and cluster monitoring tools, providing system users with insights into system performance aspects. Responsibilities also include participating in software infrastructure planning, software delivery process planning, and offering guidance and training to other team members on platform usage.

Role Involves:

• Building and maintaining Kubernetes containerization platforms.
• Automating software processes using tools like GitLab and Jenkins.
• Assisting developers with Docker containerization.
• Integrating software and cluster monitoring tools.
• Participating in software infrastructure and delivery planning.

Requirements:

• Experience in Docker container creation, configuration, and operation.
• Experience in Kubernetes cluster creation, configuration, and management.
• Proficiency in writing automation scripts and strong Linux console skills.
• Skills in software building and delivery (CI/CD).
• Understanding of infrastructure configuration options.
• Knowledge of scalability and redundancy assurance options.
• Understanding of the software development cycle.
• Excellent communication skills in Latvian and English.
