CookUnity, a platform connecting the world with chefs, seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to lead its Growth Zone engineering team. This team is crucial for attracting and retaining new customers through impactful applications.

The Engineering Manager will drive technical excellence, mentor engineers, and ensure timely project delivery. Responsibilities include leading a team of front-end and back-end engineers, providing architectural guidance, and defining agile methodologies. They will also collaborate with Product, Design, and QA teams to deliver exceptional user experiences.

CookUnity expects this person to be hands-on and write code 40% of the time.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of front-end and back-end engineers.
  • Provide technical and architectural guidance.
  • Define and refine team processes, including agile methodologies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, QA, and other stakeholders.
  • Hire, develop, and retain top engineering talent.
  • Strategically allocate resources to optimize project execution.
  • Deliver high-impact projects on time.
  • Establish and oversee quality assurance processes.
  • Manage tech debt proactively.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience at production scale with React, TypeScript, Backend-for-Frontend APIs, Postgres/MySQL, AWS, Swift (iOS), and Kotlin (Android).
  • 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager.
  • Demonstrated expertise with agile methodologies.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Proven ability to design scalable system architectures.
  • Track record of coaching and mentoring engineers.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced startup environment.
