Job Description
PhonePe is seeking an Area Sales Manager (ASM) to drive merchant acquisition in offline markets across India. The ASM will be responsible for building strong relationships with merchants, DSAs, and sales executives. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of local merchant needs and will be able to develop and implement strategies to drive PhonePe transactions.

This role involves:
  • Growing distribution and market share in the assigned area.
  • Identifying and developing DSAs.
  • Analyzing data to identify improvement areas.
  • Handling merchant escalations.
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams.
  • Driving hiring and onboarding of team members.
  • Coaching Territory Sales Managers (TSMs).
  • Monitoring quality parameters.


Requirements include:
  • MBA from a Tier 1 campus.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in sales and distribution/business development.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing large teams.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong ethics.
  • Drive for results.
