Critical Mass is seeking a Senior Unreal Engine Developer to leverage their extensive experience in extending features and optimizing Unreal Engine. The ideal candidate will produce well-documented, reusable Blueprints and Plugins and will research and tinker to find solutions to complex problems.

The role requires working from an office a minimum of 3 days a week. This is a contract position with a projected end date of April 30, 2025.

What this Role Involves:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining complex game systems, plugins, and EUWs using Unreal Engine Blueprints and C++ (as needed)
  • Collaborating with leads, testers, & stakeholders ensuring mechanics are implemented effectively
  • Working closely with other teams to ensure smooth integrations within products and pipelines
  • Identifying and solving problems related to experience development using Blueprints
  • Optimizing game systems and mechanics to ensure optimal performance
  • Enhancing character and ControlRig Blueprints
  • Documenting implementations and maintaining up-to-date project and product documentation
  • Staying up-to-date with new developments and features related to Unreal Engine Blueprints and other game development tools

Requirements:

  • Advanced English Proficiency (B2+ reading, writing, and conversation)
  • 5+ years of experience in game development with a focus on Unreal Engine Blueprints
  • Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine 5
  • Experience with modern Unreal Engine features, including Control Rig, PCG, and Editor Utility Widgets
  • Proficient in C++, Python, or other relevant programming languages
  • Experience creating in-engine utilities and extending UE
  • Enjoys flexing problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a distributed remote team environment
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Passion for video games, interactive experiences, and the game development process
