Engineering Manager, Data Connectors Platform

Job Description

Algolia is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Data Connectors Platform team. This role involves developing products that enable customers to integrate data into Algolia seamlessly. The Engineering Manager will oversee a team responsible for various data integration points, including Algolia API clients, data transformation services, and integrations with platforms like Shopify and BigCommerce. The position offers the opportunity to shape data ingestion at Algolia.

The role involves:

• Leading a team, including hiring, onboarding, and fostering professional development.
• Collaborating with other Engineering Managers and product teams to build quality products.
• Inspiring and guiding team members, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
• Leading backend and frontend engineers.
• Planning, building teams, and managing execution to deliver on commitments reliably.

The ideal candidate should have:

• 3+ years of engineering management experience and 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Comfort with the tech stack (Go/GCP based backend, React frontend).
• Experience with data-heavy products and platforms.
• Excellent communication skills to translate product requirements into technical tasks.
• Capability to manage incidents and handle on-call duties.
