AI Research Scientist - Post Training

Job Description

Perplexity is looking for an AI Research Scientist to enhance its in-house Online LLMs, known as Sonar models. The ideal candidate will transform research concepts into practical algorithms, conduct experiments, and introduce new models, while also staying current with the latest LLM research, particularly in model training and optimization. This role involves close collaboration with engineering teams to integrate Sonar models into Perplexity's product.Role involves:

• Understanding the newest models and algorithms.
• Inventing in-house improvements and optimizations.
• Post-training LLMs on query answering.
• Working with engineering teams to integrate Sonar models.

Requirements:

• Proven experience with LLM research and Deep Learning systems.
• Strong programming skills.
• Self-starter with a willingness to take ownership of tasks.
• Passion for tackling challenging problems.
• Minimum of 6 years of working on relevant projects.
• PhD in Machine Learning or related areas (Nice to have).
• Experience on academia publications and impact (Nice to have).
