Field Service Technician

Job Description

Gotion Inc., based in Silicon Valley, is seeking a Field Service Technician for its manufacturing facility in Manteno, IL. The technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing battery production equipment to ensure optimal performance and uptime. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on production machinery and support systems.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues in battery production equipment, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
• Assisting in the installation and commissioning of new equipment, collaborating with engineering teams and vendors.
• Conducting calibration and performance testing.
• Maintaining detailed records of service activities, parts usage, and system performance metrics.
• Adhering to all safety protocols.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve technical issues.
• Participating in root cause analysis and suggest improvements to equipment reliability and process efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have:

• An associate’s degree or certification in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
• A local electrical license or the ability to obtain one.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical equipment maintenance or field service.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and software systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical documentation.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Effective communication skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively locally and occasionally nationally.
