The role involves designing and implementing advanced security measures, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the security of products and infrastructure. This is a remote-first position based in Portugal.

What the Role Involves:

• Leading the design and implementation of advanced application security measures.
• Conducting threat modelling and risk assessments.
• Performing manual security assessments including code reviews.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert for security breaches.
• Developing and enforcing application security policies.
• Mentoring and training junior engineers.
• Providing expert advice on security architecture and design.
• Collaborating with engineering and product teams on security requirements.
• Championing security initiatives and advocating for prioritization.
• Staying up to date with the latest security threats and best practices.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in application security.
• Experience with security testing tools (SAST, DAST).
• Strong understanding of security concepts such as encryption and API security.
• Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Proven leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• 4+ years experience working as a Security Engineer / Application Security Analyst
