Viator is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Internal Systems pillar, focusing on data-driven solutions to enhance customer experiences. The role involves implementing modern data pipelines, monitoring data accuracy, working with cross-functional stakeholders, and contributing to optimized data solutions. The senior data engineer will own and document data pipelines, monitoring, data accuracy, SLAs and data lineage.Viator offers flexible work arrangements, with the option for remote work within Portugal or hybrid/full-time work from the Lisbon office.What this role involves:
- Implementing modern data pipelines for diverse data scales.
- Monitoring data pipelines for accuracy, completeness, and performance.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to define requirements for data products.
- Reconciling data issues and driving improvements.
- Coding, testing, and documenting new or modified data systems.
- Designing optimized data solutions and data products.
- Owning and documenting data pipelines and related metrics.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of Data Engineering experience with Data Modelling and developing modern data pipelines and applications for reporting and analytics.
- Strong Python, Java or Scala Experience.
- Strong SQL skills, including writing complex and performant queries.
- Experience setting up end-to-end data pipelines in an enterprise environment.
- Hands-on experience with cloud computing technologies like Google Cloud, AWS etc.
- Exposure to Apache Airflow or other data orchestration frameworks.
