Job Description

xAI is looking for a Network Operations & Deployment Engineer proficient in network fundamentals to join their team. The ideal candidate is motivated, pragmatic, and eager to contribute to a global network. This is an in-person role based in Memphis, Tennessee, requiring 30-40% travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Onsite work in data centers and offices
  • Troubleshooting physical network devices and links
  • Contributing to tooling, automation, and operational improvements
  • Network troubleshooting and fault analysis
  • Hardware troubleshooting and repair
  • Ticket management and carrier interface
  • Liaising with third parties to resolve issues
  • Creation and execution of scheduled changes
  • Participating in a 12x7 call-out rotation
  • Software/firmware installation
  • Monitoring and responding to network alerts
  • Automating repeatable tasks
  • Project work from Neteng teams

Requirements:

  • B.S. in network engineering or related field
  • 1+ years of Network Engineering experience
  • Understanding of network layer 1,2,3, and 4.
  • Understanding of network fundamentals
  • Routing, Switching, IP services, and network automation
  • Working knowledge of at least two internal routing protocols
  • Working knowledge of Backbone and Datacenter networks
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP
  • Understanding of unix/linux shells and scripting languages (python preferred)
  • Ability to learn new networking protocols
  • Methodical troubleshooting approach
  • Strong documentation and communication skill set
