Job Description
Gusto is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to join their Platform Reporting team. This role involves driving the core reporting strategy and its execution across Gusto's suite of products. The ideal candidate will possess deep experience in building world-class experiences and systems, strong mentorship skills, and the ability to think holistically about the systems Gusto owns.
The Role Involves:
- Identifying and solving high-impact problems.
- Demonstrating organizational leadership.
- Elevating Gusto’s engineering quality and velocity.
- Maintaining best practices for reliability and observability.
- Communicating and negotiating organizational investment.
- Coordinating engineering-wide improvements to core architecture.
- Identifying proper abstractions for the platform.
Requirements:
- 12+ years of professional software development experience.
- Expert-level understanding of SaaS fundamentals.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A track record of continuous learning.
- Experience or interest in Platform Engineering, Reporting, Ruby on Rails, OLAP datastores.
